Description
Lasix (Furosemide) is a diuretic medicine, also known as a water pill, that helps to reduce the amount of fluid in the body by increasing the amount of urine production. It is used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and swelling caused by cirrhosis of the liver. It is available in tablet form in dosages of 20 mg and 40 mg and is to be taken by mouth, usually once or twice daily. Each bottle contains 12 tablets. Lasix can also be administered intravenously.
